Read the first 46 pages and last two chapters of Rebooting America.
Read ch. 11 of Digital Media and Democracy.
We'll decide in class whether we want to divide up the other chapters (there are approximately 50 chapters of about 5 pages each). We'll also consider ways to bring in the current campaign. Here's an option: people could track discussions of the Vice Presidential debate.
Question for blogs (to be posted by Wednesday): is optimism regarding the political potential of the internet warranted? why or why not? be specific (drawing from the contributions to Rebooting Democracy). This will be the basis of our discussion on Thursday.
There are other ways of proceeding. If you have a concrete suggestion, make it hear, or write about it on your blog. A suggestion that gets the support of half the class will determine what we do. Also, at least one student has suggested that you write midterm assessments so that you all have a sense of what each other is doing.

HELP!!
firstly i cant seem to sign in to my blog (but thats my own problem)...how do i go about posting the powerpoint i made for class on tues?
thank you!
Hand or typed midterm assesments are fine with me because I don't want to make it a blog. Blogs are open for everyone to comment. My mid-term assessment I only want you as my Professor looking at.
Do you want any peer-to-peer review in that?
Well- we are all in class right? We all know how much each one of us are contributing to blogs right? What is the difference?
